On the way to work

March 22nd, 2009

This is what the road to my work looks like – it allows me 30 extra minutes of dreaming before I got to deal with daily issues

Tape it

March 22nd, 2009

Tape do the kind of music we like to write about. Chalenging, new, experimental, lots of space between those notes, this Swedish trio that does music that sounds like something Eno would do but this is clearly not Eno, I would never see them produce pop monsters Coldplay ( and that is a compliment ), its Jazzy but this is obviously not jazz music, it says on their myspace page that it is folky but it is not folk. I would say this is ambient music with a lot of soul.

Cant beat the French

March 22nd, 2009

This is as poppy as I go but I love her sound. Know very little about her but I don’t care. Lookin at the 70`s look  of Fabienne Delsol and listening to those beautiful if somewhat cheesy songs. As always recorded at Toerag in London, with producers Liam Watson and Ed Turner.I dig it. Seventies psychedelic production.

Strawberry fields forever

This was a perfect winter sunny weekend. We went to the country to a place that belongs to my wife`s family. They rented the place to a farmer where he grows strawberries and potatoes. Check it out…

Drunken Angel

March 19th, 2009

Born in a tree house, killed in a friend’s living room, 86’ed from his own funeral, Blaze Foley is now a bona fide country music legend. His heartfelt songs are covered by Merle Haggard, John Prine, Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett. The movie “Drunken Angel” reveals the secret of failing in the music business while succeeding as a legend.
Kevin Triplett began life as a filmmaker in east Texas but KMart tragically stopped selling Super8 film. He turned to electronics and became an electrical engineer in 1984, a software developer in 1991 and returned to film in 1998. This is the filmmaker’s first and final film, having created IHHO the perfect documentary. His next project is a cyberspace video game, in development since 1996.
