Those are mostly bedroom gems, mainly lofi jams (not only) that made us smile during 2010, or drift away, blasting our tiny multimedia system way up. We feel this bunch of songs defines what we do and the direction we take. Song order is purely coincidental and completely meaningless. Happy holidays to you all.
Don van Vliet, who performed and recorded as Captain Beefheart, passed away on Friday of complications from MS. Tom Waits describes his music: “Once you’ve heard Beefheart, it’s hard to wash him out of your clothes. It stains, like coffee or blood”. RIP, Genius.
I have just gotten this message from Nissan Cohen, the owner of the Nisco museum, the museum for music boxes and mechanical music, yes, the same place that we thought vanished with the fire, and the message stating:…” There was extensive damage to the museum and some of its contents but the bulk of the collection remains intact. As soon as repairs to the building are completed the museum will reopen with even a better collection of musical wonders than before the fire thanks to the kindness and concern of so many people who have contributed to the museum’s restoration”….
Thank you, Nissan Cohen, you have made our day/ week /end of the year…
It seems like it all comes down to this night, something special about it, there is something in the air, and ‘Oh holly night’ ( Banjo or freakout song) is definitely a left turn from Generationals last song. It`s so funny, listening to Banjo or freakout`s album with my headphones on, while they play this horrible birthday song for this table of guests at my local coffee shop…there is this sickening ritual, a happy waitress coming out of the kitchen with a cheesy looking birthday cake with a lit candle, and they start playing this real horrible song, it happens around twice a day, thank god I am armed with my AKG headphones, and even better, with Banjo or freakout`s excellent album that I downloaded awhile back, its just that this band name turned me off for some reason.. and again, a post with an added value, our graphics. I have asked a regular customer who later on had become a dear friend, for his opinion about our graphics. He made a face, not saying whether he liked it or not, and just said’…well, this is definitely your style’….
‘Nobody could change your mind’`s intro killed me. It made me forget work, it made me forget serious issues I have been dealing with lately. Just 8 bars, its amazing what few notes could do to a person on a gloomy night. Generationalsannounce March street date for sophomore album on Park the van. Plus a little collage from Lofiles and street artist Alias from Berlin, some Photoshop masking I have been using lately.
…”I live on two sides of an ocean. I also have a musical project named Devics with Sara Lov. Most days I am locked away in the studio. I am always searching for new recipes and a piano that speaks to me”….

We love Deepak Mantena. Summer friends by Junk Culture is such a great song. Production, arrangement, riffs, wonderful vocals and background vocals, it has inspired us to do some photoshop improvisations, as seen above.
