Arvo Pärt was born in Paide, Estonia on September 11, 1935 and grew up in Tallinn. From 1958 to 1967 he was employed as a recording director and a composer of music for film and television for the music division of Estonian Radio. During this time he studied composition under Heino Eller at the Tallinn Conservatory, graduating in 1963. This is a sample of “Tabula Rasa”: II. Silentium concerto for 2 violins (or violin and viola), string orchestra and prepared piano, released in 77.

First of all, my apologies for the shortage in outcome lately, but I have been dealing with prolapsed disc issues and severe pain and limitations, butI assure you I`ll be back to my usual pace soon and start supply you with some more goodies on a regular basis.

I have been listening to Mathieu Santos lately, (the founding member and bass player extraordinaire of Ra Ra Riot), listening to his solo stuff though, his album tiltled ‘Massachusetts 2010′, a collection of some real sparse, original & well crafted songs, which as I understood, he had completed in 2010, but came back and put on some finishing touches on this lovely record few months later, and that`s it really. Just go ahead and listen, enjoy and buy the mother.. oh, by the way, released last month on Barsuk records, home of Ra Ra, Death Cab, Cymbals eat guitars, Menomena and so many more.. oh, another thing, you got to listen to some sick sick a la Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Berlin era Bowie type guitar solos. You`ll dig those, I promise.

Crystal Shipsss is another bedroom project from Jacob Faurholt from Berlin. This is our favorite track..

I love  deep bass, floor toms, dry guitars and vocals and some great tunes, and Fenster’s album is a great sonic surprise. It sounds like a ‘Down by Law’ soundtrack with vocals, and believe it or not, this is Soren again. Its enough to hear 2.7 XO 17 to understand what I am talking about and to apreciate Tad Klimp studio abilities. BUY BONES HERE

David Lynch, Tarantino, Slim Twig, The Soft moon, Elvis, Jim Jarmusch , Uma Thurman, Nicholas Cage, Luis Vasquez,  This album makes me think about all those people, movie scenes, sights and schizophrenia. Check out Alex Zhang Hungtai AKA Dirty Beaches excellent album – ‘Badlands’. Although  its not a new release and its not the first time we write about this dude, we thought  just in case you have slept on it , listen to this and grab it on their Bandcamp.
