I like the message I got from Calaca Strides:..” “I know you music bloggers get swamped in music, but if you find time to have a little listen to this it’d be much appreciated.. Calaca Strides”.. Actually, all I do is seek music like this all day long. So, you made my job easier and I will share this gorgeous lofi folkish acoustic somewhat psychedelic song with you guys..
Crystal Shipsss have signed a record deal with the San Francisco based label Three Ring Records, who will release ‘Yay’, their debut album in North America. Three Ring Records have also released the debut of The Soft Province (Jace Lasek from The Besnard Lakes). In Denmark Yay will be out on my own label Raw Onion Records – It will be a summer release on limited edition, 10″ mint green vinyl!
You can visit Three Ring Records HERE and get a free download of the CS song My Dark Slimy Soul.
This is not the first time we cover this Troubadour. I have been listening to Mike Bruno’s magical record again last night for couple of hours. Although it is just an acoustic and a voice, few of his songs leave you numb. The result is powerful, and you feel you’re in float in a different time zone. There are three absolute favorites off this wonderful recordings I wanna share with you. Mike Bruno is a singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.. 2009 saw the release of the “The Sad Sisters” CD on his own imprint, Marygarden Tapes + Things.
Now signed to Texas-based record label Haute Magie, which gives a proper 12″ vinyl release to the same collection of songs.

Bosco is prepping a new EP, which is entitled Let Go of Me, for release on 3/6/2012. Check out her new track ‘Joker’. We love it
This is one of the most gorgeous mixtapes one could ask for. I have approached our beloved Alessandro Coronas whom we wrote about a month ago to curate a collection for us and we have received this beauty. On this freezing wintery day, I am sitting in my dark studio listening to this comp and, man, every track is a better treat than the previous one. I am ashamed to admit, I didnt recognize some of the names on the playlist. For those of you who never heard of Alessandro before here is a short bio in his own words:..”hey, I was born. …at the moment I do sound designing & composing for videogames, sound engineering, recording, performing, teaching music and inventing games during the day”…
And if you wanna purchase his gorgeous music, HERE you are.
The Playlist:
1- we accept american dollars – (Billy Mahonie)
2- battle hymn of the fox father - (Dad Rocks!)
3- passers’ piece – (Taunus)
4- you were a dick – (Idaho)

This is one creative MF. Joel Robert Melton sounds like no one else. ‘Ghost’, his debut, has earned him a respectable #2 spot of 2011’s Bandcamp Hunter yearly rundown and reached our 2011 top 69. This time around, with ‘Wounded animals’, the musician in him sounds like he is hurting to come out, and bursts with creativity and originality. His songwriting so unique, those guitars belong to a different decade, times of progressive rock monsters, those angelic background vocals and the whole nine, man, I’m fuckin speechless. Give some respect to artists of a different kind, ones that hopefully will stay with us for a long time. Support great art and buy this monster on a name your price kinda deal.
..”Recorded at Page Chilton’s House in Columbia, SC during the latter half of 2011. This record seeks to express a sense of panic, reality, and death”…
A new EP by the Gremlins, yeah, that’s right, you heard me, The Gremlis, but this is no joke. This is a supergroup kinda effort by Mat Cothran (Coma Cinema, Elvis Depressedly), Patrick Jeffords (Toro y Moi ), Sam Ray (Ricky Eat Acid) and Katie Lee (Braids). The creepy yet childish vibe is achieved by the repetitious use of a keyboard phrase that hypnotizes you but keeps you on your toes. We say – go ahead, name your price and purchase the mother cause it is truly inspiring
