Cloud Seeding
Wednesday, May 30th, 2012I like this idea behind of Kevin Serra’s Cloud Seeding venture; CS is a music singles project. The project was conceived as a space for collaboration to showcase vocalists he admires. On this second Cloud Seeding single, “Newer Testament,” Serra worked with Baltimore’s Greg Hatem (Tulsa and currently Heart of Hearts.) Greg is finishing up his debut album for his music project Heart of Hearts for a late summer/early fall release. Serra is currently working with other vocalists and collaborating on more tracks for the Cloud Seeding project.
Too much air
Wednesday, May 30th, 2012First of all, I got to be honest with you; I am not used to large quantities of fresh air. Kinda too healthy, overwhelming, makes you wonder about the rest of your life, when you struggle on a daily basis in order to breathe.. personally, I prefer lofi breathing. Besides, the sky is gorgeous and clear, and the daylight is too damn painful, agressive for my eyes, which is a bummer, as I prefer the coziness of a rainy day, or a dimmed lighted room. And if all of the above isn’t enough for you, morning beauties, its 10 AM, and I have been awake for hours now, and to make a long story short, its not my thang. Not at all, plus I hate this holly town, with all those religions constantly fighting over it, and those Hassidic Jews, and hippies that dont know Woodstock is over. Found this track titled ‘Morning‘ that would change this self pity state I am in, off a beat tape I have heard on Decoder by Detroit producer Wyldlyf.

Bridgetown summer batch 2012 – First vinyl release.
Tuesday, May 29th, 2012“This is a collaborative record of my best friend Jon and I playing songs that we’ve worked on for the past few years. This new batch also has albums from several other friends from all across the country and other buddies outside of the USA as well. This may not be the largest batch of releases on Bridgetown, but these 9 titles took a lot out of me to finally finish and get out there. I hope you enjoy them because these mean a lot to me!”.. Kevin Greenspon on his latest Summer batch, 2012, the first vinyl release on Bridgetown records.
I love his booking strategies:…”For my second USA tour that I’m doing this year, I will be performing across the entire country (except the West coast) over a span of 3 months from July 28 through October 21. I’m going to be playing absolutely everywhere possible; there are even going to be shows in towns with populations under 700 people. If you’d like me to come through, don’t hesitate to email me so I can route your town in now before it’s too late”….
One of my favorites is this guitar instrumental ‘Reframing moment’ by Sparkling wide pressure.

Special exclusive SOB show with Teruyuki Nobuchika
Monday, May 28th, 2012..”You wont find one unnecessary note while listening to the outstanding & gentle music of composer/ pianist/ musician Teruyuki Nobuchika. Its much more than the skill of music play, or the technical or theoretical knowledge. Its bigger than how good a composer or a musician you are. It’s all about absorbing and implementing. Or as some would describe this; Vanity.
TN inspires me. You could tell by listening to his music that he is implementing all those principles others wont absorb in a lifetime. It seems like each and every note is being cradled and nursed like a first born, and the same attention is directed towards (as I often describe it) the silent notes, the ones that are not being played.
That’s why I have chosen to dedicate a whole show to Teruyuki Nobuchika’s wonderful music.
The show will be aired on Wednesday, May 30th 21:00 PM Eastern Time, and then again on Thursday May 31st at the same time. Hope you’ll attend and more important, appreciate it as much as we do.
SEPI
Monday, May 28th, 2012I have just heard a song on Tonje’s facebook page (Co editor at NFOP), of Helmut, a Berlin artist with such a precious gem. A small song, simple and touching.

Our mind is made up
Monday, May 28th, 2012We just love Luke Temple. Its not the first time we cover this dude’s music, but this time its with his HWGM buddies, and we really dig this song, its groove, feel and the whole nine…The band’s new album “A Different Ship” will be out on May 8 on Secretly Canadian. Worth your effort.
Ashes
Sunday, May 27th, 2012
To cover Ashes to Ashes you simply need big kahoonas (Balls). I guess those guys were not intimidated by the fact The white duke has written this track and recorded it with the help of The greatest Tony Visconti at the controls, Robert Fripp with the sickening guitar parts, hell , Pete Townnshend on some axe action as well . This cover by NUC’s Ohnomoon sounds real good, regardless.
