LOFILES 2011′S SIXTYNINE

December 22nd, 2011

This collection of songs has been curated out of the 300 artists and tracks we have covered throughout the year. This has been more or less my iPod’s most abused playlist, and the magical number that we have come up with, are those songs that have accompanied us for the longest time. Those of you that will dig deeper, will realize that our heart belongs to lofi minimalistic bedroom music and we are always on the search for musicians that succeed in making inspiring music within the limitations of their homes or bedroom and despite of the fact they had no budget . SONG ORDER IS PRETTY MUCH MEANINGLESS, allthough we have placed the artists you are most likely to know at the top spots.

We wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy Chanukah, a Joyous Kwanzaa, and a Happy New Year…and we hope next year will be as inspiring and rewarding as this one.

Hindi Zahra

November 16th, 2011

As promised this is the first of a series of videos that we took last Saturday on a great night at the Barbie club in Tel Aviv for those two gorgeous creatures and talented artists; Hindi Zahra and Riff Cohen, this one was the first encore from Hindi’s gig. Stills on behalf of the extremely talented Tomer Kerman, who forgot his camera at a local coffee shop tonight….Dont worry, he got it back.

Stone Face

November 14th, 2011

..“The new Stone Face album is not about an avant-garde sound or studio gimmickry. It’s just good songs, sung heartfelt, and rarely in a pin-downable “style.” From what I’ve heard, he might be going in some radically different directions next, so savor this summer sweetness while you can. He’s prolific, and these songs, however crudely recorded, deserve your time and effort. There’s real sadness, real humor, real compassion in it. It’s music that wants to be your friend. Download it for free at his bandcamp”… We love it!!

Less is more

October 16th, 2011

Less is more. This is what Brian Eno was talking about. The space between them notes, the rest is as important as the played notes. Nils Frahm knows that already. His new album ‘Felt’ on ‘Erased tapes’ is beautiful. Plus I llove the fact that all the background noise and hiss and the sound of the keys and pedals from close miking was left in, and you could really envision the recording. Purchase the album HERE
