Mouth
Friday, November 9th, 2012It is Friday afternoon in Tel Aviv. When the weather is nice like today, those are the coffee shops hours. Fully packed. Only difference from back in the days, when I was a lot younger, that nowdays, everyone seems to be so busy using his smartphone, Laptop, Tablet, totally ignoring his companions. Me too. No exception here…Equipped with my laptop, Smatphone, headphones. Totally isolated from the outside world, listening to the new Sun Glitters single. Man, I love this guy and his sound, so sweet, a perfect balance of the raggedy and pretty..Sun Glitters is releasing a 7″ as part of the Lefse single series. Preorder it HERE.
Fascinator
Tuesday, October 30th, 2012Discoverer
Tuesday, October 30th, 2012Kansas City‘s Brandon Knocke has quietly been making a name for himself as a producer and composer the last few years. Beyond his solo work as Discoverer, he fronts the enigmatic Parts of Speech as well as the newly-formed, incredibly promising duo, Svamps, with Kianna Alarid Cameron of Tilly & the Wall. Knocke is a glutton when it comes to his electronic concoctions, but on this LP we hear him at his most bare. Circular motherboard is a track off Discover’s second full-length, “Tunnels,” released October 25th.
O.S
Sunday, October 28th, 2012Sound In Silence is a small independent record label based in Athens, Greece. The label was established in spring2006, trying to release exclusive high quality new music by a wonderful international roster. All releases are in limited editions, presented in collectible handmade packaging with beautiful cover designs.
Yellow6 & David Newlyn – O.S. Sound In Silence proudly presents the first full length collaborative effort between Yellow6 & David Newlyn. About a year after their debut collaboration EP on Hibernate Recordings, called Miniatures, they are collaborating again producing a great full length ambient album, called O.S. O.S. includes six deeply evocative long tracks, made of a mixture of guitars, keyboards, many effects and a lot of computer processed sounds. Yellow6, the solo project of Jon Attwood, has at times been described as post-rock, space-rock, electronica, shoegaze and ambient. Over the years, he has released over 50 releases on nearly as many labels across the globe. He has toured around Europe and North America and has worked for collaboration/split releases and remixes with many similar artists like Portal, Rothko, Absent Without Leave, Amp, Port-Royal, Caught In The Wake Forever and many others. David Newlyn is a Durham based ambient producer who has been releasing quality soundscapes for a few years now.
This thirsty fountain
Thursday, October 18th, 2012This afternoon is gloomy. I miss you. I feel the cold loneliness creeps in, fills up a large part of this big black hole deep inside. Summer is leaving us, quietly but surely. It is actually reasonable outside in this promised land, meaning you could actually walk around without evaporating. All I ask for is you by my side, and if it is not possible, this piece would do.
“This Thirsty Fountain” is the powerful and moving new EP from The Parish Of Little Clifton. The follow-up to the LP, “Portia”. (via Prtls)
