Earlimart’s System Preferences is a lush and lovely soundtrack for a sad, beautiful world. It’s an album that touches on disillusionment with and acceptance of technology, complex relationships, and lost weekends. The Los Angeles-based duo of Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray retain tones and textures familiar to fans of the band’s six previous albums of whispering and stomping indie rock, but they’ve grown as songwriters and producers. From familiar sonic waters they embark on a journey that allows them to get lost — with the novel excitement that entails. System Preferences is their sonic dead reckoning resulting in a joyous return to the band’s Californian port of call. System Preferences sounds like Earlimart without sounding like any other Earlimart album. It will be released on the band’s own label, The Ship, digitally on Sept. 18 and Oct. 16 on CD and LP.

Man Meets Bear & Murawaji

September 14th, 2012

Got a facebook message from Soren (Soren little brothers);..”In case you’re interested, I thought I’d share with you a couple of new albums I’ve just finished. This one is the newest Man meets Bear, and was recorded by Jacob Faurholt in Berlin with a full band (David Dunnett and Evelyn Malinowski/Experimental Housewife)”…Well, I love this album as much as I loved the previous one.

The second (Murawaji: Rebel Samurai) was recorded by the Midori F’z (part of the White Funz) in Japan earlier this year, and tells the story of the life and death of a samurai

My Mourning

September 5th, 2012

Its all about demons. As a wise woman told me today, “Its true but its not real”. You got to fight them constantly, not to let them win the battle, and leave you lying bleeding in the battlefield. Got to fight back those motherfuckers, which is real tough when you got to use the remains of your energy to get out of bed in the morning, or noon, or even afternoon, to be precise. “I Belong” is the B-Side to the single “Kingmaker” by Dead leaf echo, Released on 09.11.12 Custom Made Music Format: 7″ vinyl/digital, and it is the soundtrack of my mourning, realizing one couldn’t escape suffering in this world, no matter what….

Feeling’s gone?

August 21st, 2012

Beacon sings about ‘Feeling’s gone’. Well, I feel for this duo, cause I am  at a completely different state of mind. The enormous love I feel for you grows and grows on me by the day, hour, minute..We got it all. Intimacy, love, respect, friendship, admiration, I could face you when I feel weak or strong, fearless or scared to death, joyful and depressed, and tell you everything. There is no need to lie here…For the first time. For both of us. We learn so much as we watch one another, and the passion…god.. touching and kissing endlessly, not to mention other things, cause its our private own small world. Maybe one day we could share this. Ghostly International Sign Brooklyn Duo Beacon and Offer New Track From Their ‘For Now‘ EP
