Clear the fog

April 26th, 2009

Reminds me of a sound of an 80`s new wave band, updated (As heard on MKOB). That`s what is says on their bio page:
Mason Proper is a major producer of textiles in the north american territory, run by board of directors Jonathan Visger, Brian Konicek, Zac Fineberg, Matt Thomson, and Garrett Jones. they have released a full length textile, a shorter digital textile, and recently released their second textile, olly oxen free on september 23rd, on dovecote textiles ((please note that it is spelled dovecote. not dovecoat. not dovecat. not loveboat. not heirarchy. not lisense. not lightening.)

Halfway to a threeway

January 18th, 2009

There is so much to say about Jim Orourke. You can find all that in many sites on the web. Worthwhile to mention: He is a super talented musician/ songwriter/ producer/ guitar player and he’s got an impressive resume. He`s regarded as an expert on modern experimental music. Has played with Sonic Youth. Mixed and produced Wilco`s “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” – a very successful album, and also worked with Stereolab, John Fahey, Smog, Beth Orton and Joanna Newsom

Visit ………er

January 14th, 2009

I had promised myself I would not write about those indie bands that everyone loves to love but I think The Dodos will make me break my promise. Their album “Visiter” is just too brilliant and original to ignore. The sound, mainly acoustics and odd beats. The melodies are so unique. I have such hard time to decide what`s my favorite. It doesnt matter which track I`ll post. But you got to listen to it all. Promise me…please… Do yourselves a favor!

The will to death

December 17th, 2008

For all I know “The will to death” was recorded in couple of days in John`s home studio to capture real spontaneous and raw feel while Frusciante playing most parts. This song, like many others show his unique downplay style, simple clean guitar rolls and lines.
