Cold Apppearaance

Warm Blood

April 14th, 2012

Blithe Field puts forward the white voice of childhood and the misty layers of a late afternoon drawing out. The songs are brief, there’s the urgency of great dreams but also of doing well. “Warm Blood” is a collection of folding travel hymns to take away, landscapes visible to one’s eyes shut that make you wanna stretch out and stare. At the ceiling, the sky, both together. There’s the bitterness but also the sugary – and perhaps a bit ingenuous – taste of a first kiss.

This teenager -who we guess is not really a teenager anymore- is Spencer Radcliffe. After numerous releases from the labels Messy Life, Waaga… “Warm Blood” comes out April 12th on vinyl (black, pink, and clear) from Poulpe Mort.

Le jeune Niall Galvin, accompagné de sa bande de potes londoniens, nous lâche son spleen teinté de blues et de hip-hop.

Smile, will ya?

April 2nd, 2012

We are very happy to announce the release of the first Smile from Crystal Shipsss‘ debut album Yay. Crystal Shipsss is a relatively new project from our beloved songwriter Jacob Faurholt, who last year released the beautiful solo album Dark Hours. Faurholt has also played a long line of concerts, among them support slots for CocoRosie, Grizzly Bear and The Black Heart Procession. The single also includes the two non album tracks Scary Mountain and The Black ForestThe single will be released on April 9th in Europe (Raw Onion Records) and May 8th in North America (Three Ring Records) – the album Yay (10″ mint green vinyl) will follow in June / July. Yay has already had a limited cassette release on the Portuguese label Cakes and Tapes.

Fake Flamingo

March 23rd, 2012

Fake Flamingo Recordings was conceived in 2011 as a response to the current phenomena of selling an artist’s identity rather than their music. A group of veteran label owners, artists, and writers created a framework for the project, culminating in a 2012 launch. The goal is to release a digital single each week, created by an artist working under a pseudonym. As an added bonus, when the bandcamp proceeds reach $1K, a limited edition 12″ vinyl record will be pressed and 100 people who actually paid for their downloads will receive the record for free.

The ability for an artist to create new sounds without having to reference their past work has proved to be quite freeing. The music is the product, not the person. We hope that you enjoy the art as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.

March 16th, 2012

I am in an aggressive mood tonight. I have been real busy lately, and you know what, Feels like I have been busy doing nothing. Like pressing the gas pedal all the way down to the floor and you are in neutral drive. Kinda frustrating, and needed music that suits the f..up situation, and listen to these guys, and it worked…besides I am feeling little guilty while thinking of our loyal ollowers, I know I have been slow, but I really hope it will pay off, with the new site design and entertaining myself with the thought of starting a radio station operation..Anyhow, listen for now, and I will definitely keep you posted, and, please, don’t give up on me, keep checking on us everyday, and almost forgot, enjoy Brenda, and if you like, buy it on a name your price typo deal.

Actually, all I do is seek music like this all day long. So, you made my job easier and I will share this gorgeous lofi folkish acoustic somewhat psychedelic song with you guys..

The Alessandro Coronas Lofiles February Mixtape

February 19th, 2012

This is one of the most gorgeous mixtapes one could ask for. I have approached our beloved Alessandro Coronas whom we wrote about a month ago to curate a collection for us and we have received this beauty. On this freezing wintery day, I am sitting in my dark studio listening to this comp and, man, every track is a better treat than the previous one. I am ashamed to admit, I didnt recognize some of the names on the playlist. For those of you who never heard of Alessandro before here is a short bio in his own words:..”hey, I was born. …at the moment I do sound designing & composing for videogames, sound engineering, recording, performing, teaching music and inventing games during the day”…
