I keep having dreams that youll let me come back home

December 6th, 2011

These are Noah Klein‘s (Fmly) words about Cameron Potter‘s latest: “”Cameron’s sounds have been floating around the internet for the latter part of this year, maybe you remember hearing them under his former High Sea moniker, but the production of unique and original aural magic has been this dudes game far longer than his bandcamp leads on. We’ve been swooning over his collaborative performances with Birthdays all year long and having the chance to see him drum alongside Sammy “Babydude” Yager, Andrew “Share-a-tories” Morehart, and Jordan “fucking” Lee as a component in the Mutual Benefit live band has been one of the greatest shows I’ve seen all year. Lil’ dude is becoming a staple in the heart of how I imagine Boston, a heart physically tattooed on his neck that pulses with every lyric crooned or beat manifested… ungh, so badass. After months of becoming accustomed to his bite sized gems “I Keep Having Dreams That You’ll Let Me Come Back Home”, from his forthcoming full-length, comes in the form of a heart beat aka a breath of life anthem celebrating the memories of people in your life that don’t repeat. We salute, love and support you Cameron Potter, and I hope that this recording contributed the catharsis in your life that you’ve been searching for”.

Not I’ll Not

December 4th, 2011

Horsebladder is Elaine Kahn, a poet & musician currently living in Northampton, Massachusetts. She creates brave minimalistic primitive pop music, (brave cause she doesn’t need to hide behind thick production) using minimalistic loops and naïve musical lines. While listening to “Not I’ll Not”, her latest creation, the mood she created and the color of tone made me think of Tricky. I never really pay attention to the lyrics cause the sounds always interfere, but this time, maybe because everything is out there and naked, when I have reached the 3rd track, ‘Fountains’ (which is my favorite track by the way), words just sank in, these words;

“the sky in your eyeballs, is going white

fight from your muscle is not as bright

the gray moon glitters your growing hair

time takes you nowhere

and then leaves you there.”

Ghostandthesong’ is Matthias Kanik’s homerecording project released with a split together with Chris Rehm on Dayvan Zombear’s new label DZ tapes. MK is based in Berlin. Trying to put together a live show now experimenting jamming with different musicians, making some acidy psychedelic bluesy neo-surrealistic punkish rock music, some Sun Araw type of environment. I see it comin

November 30th, 2011

Lately, I have been watching Yours Truly live sessions and was blown away by the amazing quality of their video work. YT are the American answer to Vincent Moon and his Take away shows. As I saw today I am not the only one blown away by the results of their work. Apparently ‘Gaurds’share my opinion and were honored while being asked to do a session for YT. So this is the result, a great session and a great song filmed At McAvoy Ohara Evergreen Mortuary. Watch “I See It Coming”

Southbound

November 24th, 2011

I have heard Sea Oleena doing vocals on the Tristan O’Donnell project I have covered few days ago and then out of curiousity I explored her tumblr and discovered this real pretty gem, music she wrote for Lindsay Nicole Eller for a short lofi film about a trip she took from Maine to Asheville North Carolina and back up. The painting is Lindsay’s and if you like you could find many beautiful others HERE
