Well done ‘Rare’

September 10th, 2012

We have covered Tearjerker’s album Rare 9 months ago, released November 15th on Sore Thumb Records. A week ago they have released a clip for ‘So dead’ off this magnificent record…”Tearjerker is a 3 piece from Toronto…”Tearjerker plays music that has been described by various people as indie rock, shoegaze, chillwave, glo-fi/lo-fi and other subgenres that Tearjerker hadn’t really heard of before”….

Dalton EP out today

July 24th, 2012

Few months ago we have brought you Nate Harar’s (Dalton) demo. Today he has released his Dalton EP and we are thrilled to share those 5 songs with you. There is something so fresh about Nate’s “old school” musical approach, not trying to hide behind a gimmick or technology advantages. His songs are good, solid songs, and their strength lies within its writing and performance only. I really enjoy listening to Dalton, recommend this EP to you and urge you to go ahead and buy this gem for 3$ only!!

King Kahn twin peaks

April 29th, 2012

Who said one King Kahn is enough? I saw the KK and the BBQ show 2 years ago and could use another one. Not to say Twin Peaks don’t have other qualities, but Natural Villain is like a KK replica, a good one though. This is a great ‘Caroline’. I like these guys.

Save yourself

April 29th, 2012

The track is: ‘Save yourself’ by Names divine . Believe it or not, but the initial disharmony turns into a great rooted rock ballad. Great guitar and song. Know nothin about the artist.

The Golden Awesome

October 21st, 2011

Autumn is the title of the debut album by New Zealand‘s The Golden Awesome, out Nov 15th on M’Lady’s records. Armed with Johannes’s distorted guitars, and with Stef’s exquisite harmonies, the group are making their American debut this week with shows in New York, Washington D.C., and Boston.

Yes, M`Lady`s

October 13th, 2011

Something about Coasting`s rawness, simplicity, straight forward distorted guitars, dry drum sounds, solid songwriting, melody lines and harmonies, they sound the same way they look in their press photos, like they could be your next door neighbor, yet the ordinary and familiar makes it so lovable, and it doesn’t matter if you try to remember where you that tune before, you believe them. You just feel its coming from the heart. Although real different from what I regularly post, I enjoyed this record, out now on M`Lady`s records accompanied with an East coast mini tour;

October 17, 2011 East Hampton, MA @ The Flywheel w/ Grass Widow, A Troop of Echos, Outdates.

October 18, 2011 Brooklyn, NY @ 285 Kent Ave. w/ Grass Widow, Friends, Air Waves

October 19, 2011 Brooklyn, NY @ Death by audio: M’Lady`s records showcase and record release party! w/ Grass Widow, Talk Normal, The Golden Awesome, Brute Heart

October 20, 2011 Brooklyn, NY @ The woods : Tom Tom Magazine CMJ party w/ The Suzan, Hard Nips, Brute Heart, Baybee Teeth, Pearl and The Beard, Satellite Sky and DJ Venus

Ocrober 23rd, 2011 Allston, MA @ Great Scott w/No Way Jose, Saralee, Talkdemonic

Been here before

I`ll keep it with mine.

July 25th, 2011

The most famous version  of ‘I`ll keep it with mine’ was recorded by Nico (for her first solo album, which she recorded after “The Velvet Underground and Nico” came out).It was written by Bob Dylan, who gave the song to her. This great cover is by our NYC heroes, Translations.

No subtitles

June 18th, 2011

Stefan Pedatella doesn’t need subtitles. It is not the first time we mention those Brooklyn boys, Translations, and the moment you`ll hear Pigeon Suit`s guitar riff, you would understand where they come from and after being introduced to previous tracks like ‘The wanderer’ and ‘Tarantella’, we could tell you where they are heading to. We love ‘Pigeon suit’ 60`s garage R&B rockish flavor and we look forward to be hearing a whole album cause this track sounds like a good old Stones song.

Recordstoreday

April 19th, 2011

How lo can you go?

November 16th, 2010

The first part of a lofi series of The Black Needles perform in Israel. The Brazilian answer to early Joe Strummer stuff.
