June Dissolve: The Garment District Lofiles Mix
One of my favorite recent records was ‘Melody Elder’, a stunning recording venture by the extremely talented multi instrumentalist Jennifer Baron (a founding member of Brooklyn’s The Ladybug Transistor – Merge Records), who has been recording under the moniker The Garment District. There is something striking about this project; maybe it has to do with Jennifer’s naivete, or unpretentious approach. Its quality lies within its authenticity, and while listening to track after track, you sense this childish truth throughout. I was very pleased she had gladly acceped my challenge to curate a mixtape for us …. And the next thing I know that this is one of the freshest dopest haziest psychedelic hippie mixes of songs I have heard in awhile, and cant wait for you to hear that too…besides, listen to her wonderful Garment District stuff as well and purchase it HERE.
