Amalie Bruun is one half of the duo Ex Cops. Amalie’s work as a solo artist has no resemblance to the group’s psych sound. Her latest single Crush (released in August and streaming below) is real sweet sweet pop tune, and like in the last post, that’s what I am listening to at times like this (aka daytime)..Besides, I didn’t know if I should concentrate harder on the looks or the sounds. Both are real pretty.

Its hard for me to write during the day. Actually, everything seems to be tough while the sun is out. So invasive. That’s when I feel completely naked. Like a kid who has lost his mother at the mall. What you need at times like this is something that will carry you away….maybe a good dream pop song. Easy to digest, that would do the jobe right away. Field Mouse is a dream pop band from Brooklyn, NY. It consists of singer/guitarist Rachel Browne and guitarist Andrew Futral breathes, both writing the material. This is not an original, but its a great version of The twin Peaks theme, especially the gorgeous B.G vocal layers.

It is about time for a fall Lofiles mixtape. This time it is an afterhours slow and sexy one inspired by a big love of mine. Perfect for a late night bedtime action or just a Friday afternoon on a rainy day.

Tonite is a magical night. It’s a night for dark tales, about forbidden love, passion, about craving for more. Living your life at night, getting some sleep during the day. It is about a hungry beast you could hardly tame. It is about HTRK’s Fascinator. Give it a try..

Kansas City‘s Brandon Knocke has quietly been making a name for himself as a producer and composer the last few years. Beyond his solo work as Discoverer, he fronts the enigmatic Parts of Speech as well as the newly-formed, incredibly promising duo, Svamps, with Kianna Alarid Cameron of Tilly & the Wall. Knocke is a glutton when it comes to his electronic concoctions, but on this LP we hear him at his most bare. Circular motherboard is a track off Discover’s second full-length, “Tunnels,” released October 25th.

Today is a screwed up day. On a day like this you don’t understand the purpose of creation. You don’t understand why everything got to be so complicated, frustrating, insulting, and painfull. Haruki Naginata’s ‘Black tree swallowed us’ is a much better ending to a dreadful day.

Sound In Silence is a small independent record label based in Athens, Greece. The label was established in spring2006, trying to release exclusive high quality new music by a wonderful international roster. All releases are in limited editions, presented in collectible handmade packaging with beautiful cover designs.
Yellow6 & David Newlyn – O.S.
Sound In Silence proudly presents the first full length collaborative effort between Yellow6 & David Newlyn.
About a year after their debut collaboration EP on Hibernate Recordings, called Miniatures, they are collaborating again producing a great full length ambient album, called O.S.
O.S. includes six deeply evocative long tracks, made of a mixture of guitars, keyboards, many effects and a lot of computer processed sounds.
Yellow6, the solo project of Jon Attwood, has at times been described as post-rock, space-rock, electronica, shoegaze and ambient.
Over the years, he has released over 50 releases on nearly as many labels across the globe.
He has toured around Europe and North America and has worked for collaboration/split releases and remixes with many similar artists like Portal, Rothko, Absent Without Leave, Amp, Port-Royal, Caught In The Wake Forever and many others.
David Newlyn is a Durham based ambient producer who has been releasing quality soundscapes for a few years now.

Sometimes, when you listen to so much new music and artists everyday like we do, you get real tired. You know, trying to discover a leader, someone that sounds unique, like no one else..Its not that I am looking for the next inventor of the wheel, but its nice to hear truly inspiring music or artist. Besides, there are so many great bands out there, which makes it real hard to make a difference. 6 months ago, I have written about a seriously nasty MF, Joel Robert Melton, Who I have discovered while he had won the respectable 2nd spot on the yearly Bandcamp Hunter countdown. I was struck by the originality, by the power of his music, the awesome guitars…The whole thing made me want to go back to my druggie days, smoke a joint or two or ten, lay down, put on headphones, and drift away, to a place where you are able to think again, be creative, and most importantly, feel. Couple of weeks ago when JRM wrote to me telling me about a new track he was completing, I was kinda hesitant, not sure how I should react if the track would not meet the high standards he had created half a year earlier. I got the track ‘Peace Lilly’ (which is the title of a future EP)2 days ago and to tell you the truth…I cant stop listening to it ever since. First of all, this psychedelic piece makes me want to use whatever he is on…Secondly, his guitars, kill me. This beautiful song, is not arranged like your typical verse chorus verse chorus type arrangement. There are 2 hypnotic parts that grow on you from the very first listen. Although real hazy and cloudy, you could tell it is carefully crafted, sounding just the way great music should be made. I am honored to premiere this track and this artist and we really thank him for the inspiration….
