Nearernesses

October 26th, 2012

Another song that has skipped my attention is by Ollie North, a Brian Eno of the guitar. And when I mention Brian Eno, I am talking about his older solo albums, as in Before and after science, Another green world, etc… I know those are large shoes to step into, but this guy is definitely worth the compliment. I have been listening to this hypnotic song over and over..and over again and lllllove it. Buy the Bringer EP and support this wonderful artist thus enable him keep on making such great music.

Black on Black

October 26th, 2012

The Bleek Records 13 track showcase compilation released couple weeks ago includes three exclusive unreleased tracks by House of Wolves, Cloud Seeding, and Heart Of Hearts and great tracks by Natureboy, Masterface, Mr. Moccasin, House of Wolves, Heart of Hearts, Cloud Seeding (feat. Marissa Nadler), and Two Twins. The compilation also features Brooklyn artists the label admires, such as Easy Lover and Eden Sela. One of the tracks on this gorgeous compilation is by Mr Moccasin titled ‘Black on Black’. I have heard the comp few times and this title skipped my attention. Lovin it…

God’s drug

October 26th, 2012

Ty Bohrnstedt is the driving force behind The Vliets, a Dallas bi regional band splitting time between Dallas and Chicago. ‘God’s drug’ is a track released 4 months ago off an EP of the same title. Definitely worth your attention.

Higher

October 23rd, 2012

Lemiscate, the 2011, self-released debut from Los Angeles musician and visual artist Vinyl Williams, is getting the reissue treatment on November 12 via London’s No Pain In Pop and his own Salonismlam imprint. To psych us up, he made this architecture-themed animation for album single “Higher Worlds,” which sounds an awful lot like what might happen if ’70s krautrock icons Neu! asked a vocalist to sing on top of all the motorik beats and elemental guitar melodies. Complicating the found footage aesthetic, Williams passes some VHS-style filters over a homemade 3D animation, so that the result looks an awful lot like a vintage videogame even though it’s an original work.

Ballad of the Hip Death Goddess

October 22nd, 2012

Germany’s Ghostandthesong has been crafting off-kilter experimental pop with crispy production for a bit in the underground. On this release, he stretches out of the pop genre for the most part, exploring tape manipulation, drone, experimental and free jazz. It is a far out listening experience and contrasts nicely with POTIONS more low key, drone and groove experience.

Cant you see?

October 21st, 2012

If Sun Glitters and many others choose LA singer Steffaloo for their projects, we are in. Regardless to the nature of their electronic productions, she prefers simple folk instrumentation for her own music.

This thirsty fountain

October 18th, 2012

This afternoon is gloomy. I miss you. I feel the cold loneliness creeps in, fills up a large part of this big black hole deep inside. Summer is leaving us, quietly but surely. It is actually reasonable outside in this promised land, meaning you could actually walk around without evaporating. All I ask for is you by my side, and if it is not possible, this piece would do.

“This Thirsty Fountain” is the powerful and moving new EP from The Parish Of Little Clifton. The follow-up to the LP, “Portia”. (via Prtls)

Oh Jessica

October 17th, 2012

This is what’s written on the artist section of Jessica Bailiff’s label, Cranky. …”kranky was a bit surprised earlier this year when Jessica Bailiff contacted us and asked if we wanted to preview her new album for possible release. We had no idea she had even been working on an album, let alone had completed one, and we were rewarded with a listen to her most compelling album to date”…Listen via Ad Hoc

CoMa

October 17th, 2012

Its funny the way CoMa’s photos show a real wide range of personalities, like the transformation of the 2 photos you see here. Maybe that’s just to show you that underneath the dark mask, sound or concept if you will, there is a real tender and sweet person.

If you took off the disguise, you will find…what I have heard while listening to this..

Sinoptik

October 17th, 2012

Georgian Producer/ Musician Sinoptik had sent us a track via Soundcloud, a track we truly dig…To tell you the truth, we kinda slept on it during the first minute or so, but this one is worth your special attention and patience.
