Odd Vantage

May 16th, 2012

Albert Murienne had caught me off guard. Its just one of those moments, while I was scheduling a doctor’s appointment for my mom, paying a license voucher at the post office, you know, the type of stuff that makes you regret you are a sophisticated animal…then I have checked upon my emails, looking for the irritating stuff first, naturally, to get it out of the way, and stumbled upon this Black Coffee & Cherry Pie new release, which is how Albert titles this new venture , a brainchild of his after 8 years of turntabling. It all happened after he had discovered  the guitar, and I can assure you shit is working. Sweet, simple, no manouvers, straight forward a real enjoyable record. Plus you could head over to his bandcamp page and download for free…Just make sure you click the like button, cause this is the least you could do…Love this album….

Natureboy

April 9th, 2011

Natureboy is the musical project of Sara Kermanshahi, a first generation American of Iranian descent. Along with long time collaborator/producer Cedar Apffel and joined by Rory O’Connor (Masterface) on drums and keyboards, Natureboy recorded their self-titled debut which received its official release on Own records in July 2010. Natureboy makes different kind of acoustic folk, dreamy and haunting, by using a perfect blend of Sara`s vocals, backgrounds, pads and electric & acoustic guitars.

…and She sounds as good as she looks. Believe it or not.

Sarabeth

April 2nd, 2011

I always had a dream, to marry a singer. That way you are a self contained unit. You got an in house singer, you have an idea for a song, and you could just work on it, with your loved one. Sarabeth Tucek could be the one and only. She got the voice, the looks, the character, from the very little I see, feel and hear, not to mention the talent. I am not trying to patronize here, I just love this song ‘Get well soon’, although its based around those 3 chords and it sounds like many other songs you have heard before…She turns it into a very special song allthough it`s simplicity, acoustic guitar, and beautiful Hanmmond..Besides, I got few people around me I could dedicate this song to. I have seen like 30 photos of hers, and have seen her smiling on one only…and didn’t look natural. It might happen to you too, if you are born to a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist…I like her serious though. It fits what I have built around her while listening to this song. Hope I didn’t offend nobody here or didn’t get too personal. This voice is haunting me. I know this song is relatively poppy for us, but bear with me. I know you I wont disappoint you this time around..
