A moveable feast
Friday, November 27th, 2009A wonderful winter compilation from a great little label – Bladen county records. A Moveable feast (named after the set of memoires of E. Hemingway) is a very unique and interesting collection of songs. It was zipped on my desktop for awhile and I have just extracted it and the timing is perfect. It is Friday afternoon and the Sabbath came in and its all so quite around here, and the songs are so touching and beautiful.
This are some real good songs from bunch of artists and friends of this label. Artists such as Ritchie Young, Team Evil, Alan Singley and Blue horns. My favorites of this record are ‘Jeremy Frank’ by Team evil,’ Feet of lead’ by Oh captain my captain, ‘Whalebelly’ by Autopilot – a unique sounding waltz (listen to it below), A great little song be Sean Finn, and an awesome last tune by Alan Singley – ‘Rice Pudding.
Physical copies of the comp will be available Dec 11th at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison St. Portland, OR) for the Bladen County Records Showcase Show. Doors at 8:30. $5. 21
