City Center

April 25th, 2010

Sitting at my local coffee shop, where I write most posts, just sitting by the bar, drinking coffee and diet Coke, my AKG headphones on, (the music at this place is horrible), listening to new music and writing away. I have been listening to City Center all day today, while writing this article ‘ I need that record’, and I got to admit, I love this EP, it grows and grows on me, great samples, sounds, looped gtrs,L&R games, they create hypnotic atmosphere, kind of music to meditate to, but without the clichés. Although drumless, they create a funky subtle groove using all those delayed vocal bits and endless looped guitar parts. Besides, I wouldn’t mind smoking their weed, but that doesn’t take away of their skills. City Center are Ryan Howard & Fred Thomas of Saturday Looks Good To Me. Check out Sky Flowers of their Spring st. EP
