Saltlands studio
Friday, October 30th, 2009Came across that name while listening to this indie band produced by Eli Janney. Saltlands Studio is an independent recording facility collectively operated by folks in Brooklyn, NY. It was born within a thriving community of musicians, producers, and engineers in the waterfront area of Dumbo, including an extensive rehearsal space infrastructure. The gear in the studio has been chosen with a selectivity gained from the years of professional experience of the Saltlands partners. The palette of equipment includes Neve, Neumann, Studer, and other desirable studio attributes. They run Saltmines as well. The Saltmines is a community of musicians and artists who are committed to providing affordable space in NYC. Started in 2000, the Saltmines have been renovating low-rent commercial space to make it suitable for art and music studios. In NYC, as you may know, very difficult to find large, affordable, clean, and secure rehearsal and studio space. There is a link of selected projects that were recorded at Saltlands.
