This is a supergroup kinda effort by Mat Cothran (Coma Cinema, Elvis Depressedly), Patrick Jeffords (Toro y Moi ), Sam Ray (Ricky Eat Acid) and Katie Lee (Braids). The creepy yet childish vibe is achieved by the repetitious use of a keyboard phrase that hypnotizes you but keeps you on your toes. Coma cinema’s Matt Cothran has been releasing a lofi bedroom trilogy lately titled ‘Death 2 America’ under the pseudonym Elvis Depressedly. If you love Coma Cinema’s music as much as we do, actually, even if you have never heard Matt’s stuff before, you are going to dig this project. The first bunch of songs under this moniker was released in August , 5 tracks he had titled ‘Save the planet kill yourself’, which is different and darker than the other 2 releases and the Coma cinema stuff you are used too, sounds like Matt meets Tricky, just lighter on the low end. ‘Goner’ continues where Coma Cinema’s last release has left you– consists of 5 tracks and was released in October, and the lovely ‘Disgraceland’, released couple of weeks ago. Elvis’s music was recorded at his new pad in Columbia. Lllllllllovely. Brought to our attention and ears by the one and only Hannah Baker who is joining the Lofiles small team.
