Neon Indian playing Bonnaroo & more new tour dates

February 12th, 2010

It’s shaping up to be a big 2010 for Neon Indian, just as SPIN predicted. The band made its network television debut this Thursday night, Feb. 11 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The band was also recently announced as part of the Bonnaroo 2010 line-up and will be hitting the US and European Summer festival circuit with a vengeance (stay tuned for more on that!). Neon Indian recently remixed Grizzly Bear’s track “Cheerleader” not once, but twice, if you haven’t heard those remixes yet, listen here, stay tuned for many more high profile remixes to be unleashed throughout the year. The band’s Laundromatinee session was also recently posted on My Old Kentucky Blog.

An elusive new project from composer Alan Palomo. Neon Indian delivers equal parts synthetic nostalgia, Dreampop lullabies, and grinding guitar noise to create something eerier than the sum of its parts. Forged after a hazy winter gathering in Texas, this initial batch of tracks were the result of field recordings, record samples, a collection of bizarre synth sounds. Orbiting around the themes of drug induced heartbreak, weary afternoons, and lost chances, this music provides a lush soundtrack to the deadbeat exploits of teenage ennui. Neon Indian’s bedroom ballads have already forged Psychic Chasms, the debut full-length. They’ve been compared to New Order, Future Bible Heroes, and most recently said to sound like a saw-wave cutting a Doobie Brother’s song in half. Expect much racket to be had from this fresh-faced crew. Listen to Terminally Chill

Oh yes

August 29th, 2009

This is our lucky day. Kaisercartel on Laundromatinee, this lovely Brooklyn duo ( we wrote about them months ago and expressed our admiration ), with a live video session for the good guys. This is what our site is about; Purity, simplicity, feel, minimalism, all in the lofi fashion. Acoustic guitar and brushes. Awesome

Bob Schneider

April 2nd, 2009

Bob Schneider is kind of an institution in Austin, Texas. He has often been billed as “the next big thing” in alt-country/rock-pop music and has built a large, loyal following through years of touring. It is a believable scenario that Schneider is simply content as a big fish in the pond that is Austin, but it is also realistic to believe that he is still just a couple steps away from exploding on a large-scale national level.Sonically, He blends multiple genres…country, rock, pop and even hip-hop and funk. He tells honest-to-a-fault stories in his songs. Listen to him Live on The Laundromatinee) Listen to this pure beauty – classical guitar and vocal. You could watch that as well on Vimeo
