It`s Dawn

May 31st, 2009

Dawn Landes is into sound. After landing in NYC she started interning in the big studios and learning from the greats; Soon enough she started working with Philip Glass, Ryan Adams, Hem, Joseph Arthur and the Earlies. Then she started recording songs and experimenting late at night after everyone had left the studio. Then she met the band Hem in the studio and joined them on the road as an eighth member and as an opening act.
This is Bodygaurd, a great song she had recorded few years down the line..

Loser`s lounge

March 1st, 2009

Back in NYC I had a good friend, Keyboard player, roommate named Joe Mcginty. When we would go out and see a beautiful girl accompanied by a guy, we would say: ” What is she doing with this loser? Later on Joe took this Loser thing a step further and formed The Loser`s lounge. Check it out. This became a cult thing in NYC years ago
Loser’s Lounge is a bi-monthly tribute show & band based in New York City where local talent pays homage to the pop music greats of the past.
Loser’s Lounge was started in 1993 by session keyboardist Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs, The Ramones, Ryan Adams) and psycho-cabaret singer Nick Danger. Since 1993, the Loser’s Lounge has performed nearly 300 shows honoring 50 different artists, from ABBA to the Zombies, sometimes with the honorees present: Lee Hazlewood, Paul Williams and Denny Doherty (of the Mamas and Papas) all enthusiastically attended their own tribute nights.
Sometimes famous people stop by to sing (Nellie McKay, the late Joey Ramone, Andy Richter, Parker Posey, Debby Harry, Fred Armisen, J Mascis and They Might Be Giants) but it’s the talented group of regulars that consistently bring the house down.
Come hear for yourself!!!
